By Sgt. Patrick Timmons

The Riverdale Park Police Department would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season. The police department is grateful for the support of the community and looks forward to working hand and hand with everyone in the coming year.

In an effort to make holiday shopping a safe experience, the Riverdale Park Police Department reminds all holiday shoppers to take the following precautions:

  • Park only in well lit areas while at shopping centers,
  • Never leave shopping bags visible in unattended vehicles,
  • Keep all valuables (purses, wallets) close at hand, especially in crowded areas,
  • If parking in a well lit area is not an option, have a friend walk you to your vehicle.

The Riverdale Park Police Department wishes the very best to PFC Larry Hayes and Dispatcher Carlos Joyner , who have both been called to active duty in the United States Armed Forces . Our thoughts are with them and their families during this holiday season.

The biographical articles on members of the police department will resume in the next issue. Sgt. Patrick Timmons is a police officer with the Riverdale Park Police Department.
