§ Treasures For Sale - A Silent Auction

In light of the recent acquisition of the 8 vacant buildings in the town center, the town has obtained many valuable items contained inside these buildings. Before these building are redeveloped and these items are discarded, we wanted any interested people to see if these are items they can use or items that they can treasure for many years to come. These items are being taken from the buildings and will be transported to the Public Works Building by February 1. Thereafter, they will be on display and available for purchase through a silent auction process..

The items listed below will be available for purchase from the Town by any person willing to pay for them and to cart them away. These items will be on display at the Public Works Department, 5012 Queensbury Road, during normal business hours during the first two weeks in February. The hours to view the items are from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or Saturday, February 9 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

All items will be sold in "as is" condition and no warranties are being made. Interested parties may inspect any item for sale during the designated hours and place a bid for any individual item (a bid must be for a specific item, not by lot) by completing a

bid form at the Public Works Department and placing it in the sealed box. This silent auction will continue until February 15, 2002, when all bids will be opened. Each item will be sold to the highest bidder. Each successful bidder will be contacted by phone and have one week in which to pay for and remove the item.

The following items are available for purchase:

  • 3 old fashioned barber chairs
  • Large photocopier
  • Large horizontal freezer
  • 2 six foot tall wood cabinets with glass doors

There are many miscellaneous items available, so come by and see if someone's trash may be a new found treasure and is available for the asking!
