Located at the site of the former Leland Hospital, the Center is a state-of-the-art facility that offers 140 nursing beds and 20 assisted living units to accommodate the needs of older residents. You can set your own hours and available day(s) and choose the type of activity you like best--reading to a person with poor eyesight, taking a wheelchair resident to the beauty shop, bringing your pet in for a visit (and a pat on the head) or just sitting down for a few minutes at a bedside to bring in news of the outside world--these are just a few of the ways you can be a valuable member of the volunteer corps. Volunteer applications are available at the Town Hall or you can call the town office (301)927-6381 and an application will be mailed to you.
